MEET DR. WOODSON
Roderic L. Woodson II, MD is the founder of Georgia Renal Specialists. Described by many as “The People’s Doctor,” Dr. Woodson is an award-winning physician who is known for his compassionate bedside manner, patient advocacy, and expertise in all spectrums of kidney disease.
Dr. Woodson received his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his nephrology fellowship training at Emory University.
Dr. Woodson completed his board certification in Internal Medicine and is currently board certified in Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In addition to caring for patients at his private practice, Dr. Woodson has extensive experience in critical care nephrology and is one of the leading providers in the management of Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) in the Southeast. Dr. Woodson is frequently called upon to share his wealth of nephrology knowledge in seminars covering topics including fluid and electrolyte management, AKI in the critical care setting, AKI management post-cardiac surgery, and CRRT.
Dr. Woodson is an active member of the American Society of Nephrologists and the Renal Physicians Association. He is currently on staff at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
Dr. Woodson resides in Sandy Springs with his wife and two young children. In his spare time, he enjoys family time, staying active, movies, reading, and is a gadgets guy.
